A+F ROBOTIC PALLETIZER FOR BOOKS

Here you will find information about...

Functional Description

The infeed of the palletizer can accommodate either stacks of books or cases. Following the layer pattern the infeed conveyor moves the book stacks into complete rows.

A servo driven pusher moves the products into an end-effector system which is mounted at the robot arm.

The end-effector consists of a plate to receive the book stacks as well as a centering device.

During the transport from the layer preparation to the pallet the book stacks are secured by the pneumatic centering device. When placing the book stacks onto the pallet the plate is being retracted and the stacks remain on the pallet in the correct position.

Following the layer pattern cases are being prepared by a roller conveyor before being picked up by a fork end-effector.

Releasing the flange and the energy quick-disconnect is the only requirement when changing the end-effector system. Hence the change of the end-efector takes only a few minutes.

To stabilize the book stacks on the pallet there is a possibility to insert slip sheets between layers. Suction cups integrated in the gripper system pick up the slip sheets from a pallet.

A new layer pattern can be automatically generated by input of case dimensions, pallet type and dimensions as well as label positions.

The fork end-effector will palletize these cases according to the new layer pattern without any changeover.

The end-effector for rows of book stacks needs to be adjusted to the new dimensions by the operator. The system walks the operator through the required input data.
